Sudanese Woman Spared From Apostasy Death Sentence Finally Arrives in The United States

Meriam Ibrahim, her husband and two children have arrived New Hamsphire in the US where her husband is resident. He is an American citizen anf she and her children will join him to begin a new life.

Family, friends and well wishers were at the airport to receive them and show their support. One can't help but be thankful that her life was spared.

Meriam Ibrahim Arrives Italy To Meet The Pope Who Praises Her Courage and Steadfast Faith

Meriam Ibrahim, who was released from a death sentence for renouncing Islam by the Sudanese Supreme Court, is in Italy and has met with Pope Francis.

On arrival, the 27-year-old and her family were received at the pope’s guesthouse for about 30 minutes. According to a statement released by the Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi;

“The pope thanked Meriam and her family for their courageous demonstration of constancy of faith. Meriam gave thanks for the great support and comfort which she received from the prayers of the pope and of many other people who believe and are of good will.”

“With this gesture the pope wished also to show his closeness, attention and prayer for all those who suffer because of their faith and in particular Christians who suffer persecution or restriction to their freedom of religion.”

Sudanese Christian Woman Freed After Appeal Court Rejects Death Sentence For Apostasy

Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman who had been sentenced to death for Apostasy has been freed. Meriam has been reunited with her husband after getting out of custody, said her lawyer, Mohaned Mustafa El-Nour. An appeals court found that an initial judgment against her was faulty, he said.

Ibrahim gave birth to a girl in a prison in the capital of Sudan last month, two weeks after she was sentenced to 100 lashes and to die by hanging.

Her husband, Daniel Wani, uses a wheelchair and "totally depends on her for all details of his life," her lawyer said. She was in the women's prison with her 20-month-old son, but Sudanese officials said the toddler was free to leave at any time, according to her lawyer.

Brother of Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese Christian woman who was sentenced to death for apostasy, in a new interview with CNN says his sister should be executed for leaving Islam. Al Samani Al Hadi Mohamed Abdullah had handed his sister to the authorities because, according to him, his family are “Muslim people.”
